We also have our own ISV solution to these and various other shortcomings in this area, please let me know if you'd like any details.Duplicate files don’t just take up storage space, they even clutter up your memory and make your system slow down. We've seen some other issues with this dialog in Unified Interface (see for another example where the dialog would appear completely blank) So if your unique identifier column is used in a dedupe rule it should be shown automatically, unless Microsoft have changed that logic recently. The columns shown in this window at least used to be taken from the Quick Find view, plus any columns used in your duplicate detection rules. Subject: Duplicate Detector results in Unified Interface My worry is users will simply ignore and save if it's too cumbersome. Will let you know what we get back in terms of advice but you have at least validated my concerns around duplicate detection not being intuitive on the unified interface, so thank you. how to navigate to check contact details and not lose the contact you are trying to create if CRM does detect a duplicate. what rules is the system applying around duplication detection what the system can and can't do in terms of duplicate detection I'm very interested to see what response you get and in the meantime I've asked our suppliers to provide a lesson on: We are due to go live with the unified interface in September and have a small base of existing users on 2013 - all of us have noticed the issues you are flagging on Duplicate Detection and cannot work out how to get back to the original Contact you are trying to create when working out if it's a duplicate. That field is not in any views (that I have access to, at least)!Ģ) Is anyone else finding that it doesn't take you to the listed account when you right click on the hyperlink and choose Open in new window? I tried to identify which view was being used by looking at the dependencies for one of the unusual fields included. It doesn't take you to the record that's listed! And because our unique identifier isn't there, we have no good way to pull up the potential duplicate without losing what we've entered.ġ) Is there a way for us to control which view is used for the Duplicate Detector results? It is currently not using any view I have access to. If you right click on the hyperlink to the account that's listed and choose open in new window, it actually takes you to a listing of the new account you're creating that hasn't been saved (hence the likely bug). If you click to look at the potential duplicate, you lose all your data entered for the new account. In the unified interface, the 8 fields that are displayed don't give us any good information to go on. My challenge is that we used to have a lot more data points (including our unique identifier field) that would show in the view used to display potential duplicates. In the classic interface we used to see both the current record and the duplicate. With the unified interface, we are only seeing the potential duplicates. If there's a hit on an existing record that's a potential match, the dialog window displays. We have some Dup Detect rules set up to run when accounts are added to the system. I have a model driven app built for a team. I believe we've stumbled on a bug with the Duplicate Detector results as we are trying to understand the new presentation of the list of potential duplicates in the unified interface.
